Autumn/Winter Community Update

Djembe Drumming:

The first  of our 2-hour Djembe Drumming groups is booked for Thursday, 19th October (in the current Art Group time, arrive 11am, for an 11:30am start). Bookings are now being taken on a first-come-first-served basis, via the CRC HubCRCF, Affected? or the Mindfulness Group. A £2 contribution will secure you a place.

We first experienced Djembe Drumming as a mindful community building experience during our recent visit to the Leicester community for Dear Albert’s launch day event. Everyone who participated really enjoyed the experience, finding it both relaxing and life-affirming. Group exercises promote and enhance unity through bonding, and we would encourage you to book early as places are already filling up.

CGL Service User Launch Event:

This event has been pencilled in for December 1st – CGL, Lamb Street: 10:30am – 2:30pm. To help with planning and shaping the event, CGL would like to hear what information people want to be included on the day. A thread has been posted on the CRC Facebook page, so please either share your thoughts there or speak to a member of our team, either via the CRC Hub, or via any of our group activities.

CRC Christmas Meal:

This year’s CRC Christmas Meal has been pencilled in for Tuesday 5th December. We’re currently canvasing how many of you would like to attend, so please share your ideas on preferred venues/food choices, to allow us to move forwards and arrange deposit, payment & budgeting options. Again, there is a thread on the CRC Facebook page, or alternatively speak to a member of our team via the CRC Hub or any of our group activities.

CRC Mindfulness Group:

We have now launched a Mindfulness Group, meeting Wednesdays at 11.30am at the CRC Hub. Mindfulness is a technique which can help people manage their mental health or simply gain more enjoyment from life. The group aims to explore all angles of the practice to develop as a permanent peer-led feature of CRC’s activity program.
